Boarding life » Houses and houseparents
The school has always enjoyed its reputation for boarding, and we work hard to sustain the standard of accommodation and to develop a full programme of boarders’ activities.
The need to balance the many benefits of communal living with the need for ‘private space’ is sympathetically acknowledged. Experienced houseparents provide solid pastoral care and act as a crucial communication channel between the parents, the pupils and the teaching staff.
Weekly boarding is an increasingly popular option, not just with junior boarders (age 7), but the Sixth form boarders, too.
Our boarding houses and house-parents are:
Beecholme – boys in Years 7-12
Mr Ian Richardson and Mrs Mary Richardson (houseparents), Mrs Sally Leach (matron) and Miss Leah Cunnah (assistant houseparent)
Edwards – Girls in Years 7-13
Mrs Bev Taylor (houseparent) and Miss Rhian Hughes (assistant houseparent)
