New Headmaster Simon Smith outlines vision for Rydal Penrhos at staff meetings
Rydal Penrhos’ new Headmaster Simon Smith met with staff to discuss his vision for the school at a pair of special presentations.
Both support staff and teachers listened to what the new Head had to say on Monday, January 9, with Mr Smith keen to put across what how wants the school to evolve in the coming months.
Focussed around the ‘5 L’ model that the former Deputy Head at Haileybury has put together, Mr Smith stated how every staff member can make a difference, and will be arranging appointments with each person employed at Rydal Penrhos to discuss any ideas they may have.
During the pair of 20-minute speeches, Mr Smith stated he wanted the school to become one of the leading private education establishments in the country, and he would be striving to ensure that every pupil at Rydal Penrhos will play their part “whether it be on the stage, with a musical instrument or on the sports field”.
He also stated that while winning regional and national competitions is a long-standing tradition, he stressed the importance of taking part and gaining vital experience, which are “equally as important”.
Following the talks, Mr Smith had the chance to speak to various staff members and answer any questions in what has been a busy start to life at Rydal Penrhos for the new man at the helm.
