Netball teams face King’s School
A roundup of the Netball fixtures versus King’s School, Chester.
Saturday 14 January – U15 v King’s School, Chester (away)
The winter weather saw the fixture moved indoors, but the U16 team joined by Hannah Cashell got off to an excellent start. The team dominated the game and some impressive shooting and defending saw the team win 18-12.

The U15s faced a squad that regularly finishes in the top three of their county tournaments and despite Rydal Penrhos’ best efforts to defend the ball, King’s School dominated the first 3 quarters.
The final quarter saw the Under 15s settle into the game, keeping their passes short and simple which allowed them to maintain possession and as a result, reduce the goals scored against us. The final score was 25-3.

The Under 14 team began well against a very strong King’s School side. Accurate passing from King’s saw them go into the lead from the first quarter. Despite a good effort from the whole team and the third and fourth quarter being very equally matched the King’s side were too strong and led until the end with the score finishing 7-12.
Saturday 14 January – U12 v King’s School, Chester (home)
The Under 12 team faced a King’s team which consisted of club players who were fast, tactical and extremely tall! Rydal Penrhos fought valiantly increasing pace, awareness and accuracy throughout every quarter. Captain Becky Lawton was able to maintain the team’s positive attitude and encourage a fighting spirit. Special mention must also go to effort from Anna Richardson, Lily Spillane and Olivia Williams for their tenacity.
Man of the match was awarded to Emily Cashell by the opposition.
This was an excellent start to the season, despite a loss, as the team are fully aware of the level of skill they need to aim for.
