Sailing team get competitive
The sailing team have been busy competing over the half term break, visiting Shotwick for the last of the Youth racing series and Llyn Brenig for the Welsh Laser Inland Championships.
During a cold but sunny day of racing at Shotwick, Alex Azurza came 2nd in the Topper class and Brad Farrell secured 2nd in the General Handicap fleet. At the end of the event prizes were given for the whole series of 5 races, with Brad receiving a 3rd in the general Handicap fleet.
Rydal Penrhos are currently in 2nd place overall in the Youth racing series, with more points to win at the Christmas regatta.
At the Welsh Laser Inland Championships at Llyn Brenig, the team were met by very strong winds. The 2 day racing event saw Brad come home in 3rd place, narrowly missing 2nd place by one point.
Sunday 6 November saw the team compete in the annual friendly against Windermere and Sedburgh. Despite Sedburgh being unable to make the competition, some very close racing in Oppie’s and Pico’s made for an exciting event. Congratulations go to the team of Harry, Brad and Scarlett for winning!
