Author and songwriter, Eric Maddern, made a visit to Rydal Penrhos School this week to work with pupils in years 7 & 8. Eric, who is based in Snowdonia, held interactive workshops for the children, dealing with the topical themes of community and the environment. The pupils enjoyed listening to his stories, learning how to construct their own narratives, as well as singing along to some of his songs.

The children especially enjoyed writing their own song at the end of the session.

Eric’s visit was organised by the Welsh Literature Promotion Agency, Academi, which organises author visits to schools in Wales.
