Open Days, visits and tasters
Our website and prospectus offer you the facts about Rydal Penrhos School; a visit to the school will tell you you so much more. We have provided a useful list of steps to help you make an informed decision when choosing a school.
Step one for families: an Open Day
We recommend an Open Day as the first step in the decision making process. This is an informal event, which gives families the chance to explore the school and its facilities; meet staff and pupils; ask questions; and generally gain a better insight into Rydal Penrhos.
Our next Open Day will take place on Friday 2 March 2012 from 2pm. To register your details for any other forthcoming open events, click here
Step two for families: a visit
Visits differ from Open Days in that families make an individual appointment for a tour of the whole school, led by a senior member of staff. There is the opportunity to ask more in-depth questions at this stage. A visit ends with a meeting with our Admissions Officer, who will answer any questions you may have about applying for a place at Rydal Penrhos. We are always happy to meet prospective parents and pupils and would be delighted to show you around. If you’re interested in booking a visit, click here to register your details with Jenny.
Step three: a Taster Day
If your son or daughter enjoyed a recent Open Day or visit to the school, we recommend they come on a taster day to get to know our pupils. He or she will be assigned a buddy for the day and will experience a full school day of lessons and activities, including lunch. A taster is a particularly popular option for pupils entering the Lower School (years 7-11). Taster days can be booked by calling Jenny on 01492 530155
For boarding pupils, we can offer a taster that includes a night in one of our boarding houses. Here, your son or daughter can meet some of the pupils with whom they may be living in the future, and develop a better feeling for the life that goes on after the end of the school day.
