Head of School – Mrs Irene Proudlove

Rydal Penrhos School is a school for pupils from age to 11 – 18: Years 7-9 sit in the middle of this programme, bridging a gap from primary schooling to the public examinations of GCSE and beyond. More opportunities and greater challenge are gradually introduced in the Lower School. Specialist teachers are used at every stage and we aim at this stage to inspire a love of learning. Please refer to the Years 7-9 Curriculum Booklet on the right.
Rydal Penrhos provides a splendid GCSE programme, with breadth of choice and an ability to cater for pupils of all abilities. With a commitment to academic excellence at its heart, the Rydal Penrhos curriculum also delivers a vibrant and inspiring extra-curricular programme. Please refer to the GCSE Curriculum Booklet on the right.
International pupils – the Pre-Sixth
The Pre-Sixth is a one year course for pupils for whom English is not their first language. Successful completion of the course should be ideal preparation for Sixth form study at Rydal Penrhos School; both A-level and International Baccalaureate. Please refer to the Pre-Sixth Curriculum Handbook on the right.
